PROPOSAL FOR NEET PA ENTRANCE TEST

Will the Minister of AYUSH be pleased to state:
(a) whether the Government is aware of the proposal of the Central Sanskrit University (CSU) to
conduct the first ever National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test for Pre-Ayurveda (NEET PA) this
year creating a new Gurukul based pathway to the Bachelor of Ayurveda Medicines and Surgery
(BAMS) degree; and
(b) if so, the details thereof?

(a) & (b) The National Commission for Indian System of Medicine, a statutory body established under
the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine Act, 2020 notified the National Commission
for Indian System of Medicine (Pre-Ayurveda- Programme for Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and
Surgery) Regulations, 2024 to introduce a seven and half years Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and
Surgery programme to be conducted in the Ayurveda Gurukulam. Under this programme all Ayurveda
Gurukulams shall be affiliated to the Central Sanskrit University, Janakpuri, New Delhi.
Accordingly, the Central Sanskrit University has issued the Information Bulletin for National
Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test for Pre-Ayurveda (NEET PA) for academic session 2026-27. The details
