RAIL CONNECTIVITY FOR CHANDIGARH AND RAJASTHAN
2021. SHRI MANISH TEWARI:
Will the Minister of RAILWAYS be pleased to state:
(a) whether the Government is cognizant of the multiple representations
sent by the Member of Parliament from Chandigarh regarding improved
train connectivity, including requests for superfast train stoppages at
Chandigarh/Mohali on the Katra and Amritsar routes as well as
enhanced connectivity to Rajasthan and if so, the details thereof;
(b) whether any action has been initiated on these representations,
including examining the feasibility of providing stoppages for Vande
Bharat, Shatabdi, Sampark Kranti, Rajdhani and other superfast trains
at Chandigarh/Mohali in view of the large number of students,
professionals, lawyers and devotees who rely on these routes and if so,
the details thereof; and
(c) whether the Government proposes to address the public demand for
daily operation of Train No. 22451/22452 (Chandigarh–Bandra) and to
provide direct connectivity to Khatushyam, Ajmer, Pushkar, Bikaner and
other destinations and if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons
therefor?

(a) to (c) At present, both Chandigarh and SAS Nagar Mohali stations are
connected to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra by 02 pairs of train services
each and to Amritsar by 08 pairs of train services each as listed below:-

pairs, 04 pairs and 03 pairs respectively listed below:-

As regards increase in frequency of 22451/22452 Bandra (T)-Chandigarh
Express from Bi-weekly to Daily, it is stated that Chandigarh is presently
connected to Mumbai by 04 pairs of train services including the daily
service of 12925/12926 Bandra (T)-Amritsar Paschim Express. The train
serving Chandigarh-Mumbai sector are listed below:-
