Parliament Question: Rail Connectivity in Hisar

Will the Minister of RAILWAYS be pleased to state:

(a) whether the Government is aware of the need for direct rail connectivity from the Hisar Lok Sabha Constituency in Haryana to the eastern and north-eastern parts of the country;

(b) whether the Government has received any proposal for operating Train No.12259/12260 Bikaner-Sealdah Duronto Express via Hisar up to New Delhi and for extending Train No. 12801/12802 Purushottam Express up to Hisar;

(c) if so, the current status of the said proposal, the details of the feasibility assessment and the action taken by the Ministry of Railways in this regard;

(d) whether the Government proposes to operate the Purushottam Express up to Bhiwani as an interim arrangement; and

(a) to (e): At present, Hisar is directly connected to various important destinations like Agartala, Badarpur, New Haflong, Lumding, Guwahati, Goalpara Town, New Bongaigaon, New Jalpaiguri, Barauni, Patna, Gorakhpur located in the Eastern and North-Eastern parts of the country, § Page 1 of 6by the services of 14619/20 Agartala - Cantt. - Firozpur Express and 12555/12556 Bathinda - Gorakhpur Express.

 Capacity of that section  Availability of path Page 5 of 6 Availability of required rolling stock  Availability of matching infrastructure for rolling stock  Maintenance requirement of railway tracks and other assets.

 Occupancy and the traffic requirement of the section.

Proposals/requests/suggestions/representations, both formal and informal inter alia for stoppage of train services are received from Members of Parliament, elected representatives, organizations/rail users etc. at various levels including Railway Board, Zonal Railways, Divisional Office etc. As receipt of such proposals/requests/suggestions is a continuous and dynamic process, centralized compendium of such requests is not maintained. However, these are examined and action as found feasible and justified is taken from time to time, which is an on-going process.
