NEERAJ DANGI: Will the Minister of YOUTH AFFAIRS AND SPORTS be pleased to state: (a) the goals and objectives of launching the Rashtriya Khel Protsahan Puraskar (RKPP) scheme; (b) the number of corporate entities and voluntary organisations associated with RKPP scheme since its inception; and (c) the State/Union Territory-wise and sport-discipline-wise details of youth beneficiaries/awardees under the scheme during each of the last three years and the current year? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF YOUTH AFFAIRS AND SPORTS (DR. MANSUKH MANDAVIYA) (a): The objective of Rashtriya Khel Protsahan Puraskar (RKPP) is to encourage and promote involvement of corporate entity (Public/Private), non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in the promotion and development of sports in the country. To achieve this objective, the scheme aims to recognize and incentivize contributions made by such entities towards sports promotion and development and have played a visible role in one or more of the following areas of sports development: (a) Identification and nurturing of budding/young talent (b) Encouragement of sports through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) (c) Employment of sportspersons and implementation of sports welfare measures (d) Promotion of sports for broader social development (b) and (c): The Rashtriya Khel Protsahan Puraskar (RKPP) was instituted in 2009 and the list of Rashtriya Khel Protsahan Puraskar (RKPP) awardees since 2009 is available in public domain on the website of the Ministry i.e. https://yas.nic.in/. The award is not given to any individual sportspersons; it is exclusively meant for corporate entities including non- governmental organizations (NGOs), that have contributed to the promotion and development of sports in the country. ***** Page 1 of 1
