(a) whether the Government has received any formal proposal from the
Government of Karnataka regarding the realignment of the Mysuru–Nanjangud–
Gundlupet–Ooty National Highway to enable the expansion of Mysuru Airport
and if so, the details thereof;
(b) whether the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has reviewed or
approved a revised alignment plan and if so, the proposed alignment and
expected timelines for implementation thereof;
(c) whether the Government has undertaken any assessment of the impact of
the realignment on freight and tourism connectivity in the Mysuru–Nilgiri
corridor and if so, the details thereof; and
(d) whether the Government proposes to expedite the realignment decision in
coordination with the State Government to ensure timely completion of the

(a), (b) & (d) Yes Sir. Airport Authority of India (AAI) has requested for
diversion of Mysuru-Nanjangud Section of NH-766 to facilitate the development
of Mysuru Airport. The alignment has been reviewed in consultation with
Government of Karnataka to facilitate the expansion.
(c) There is no major impact on Mysuru-Nilgiri Corridor due to diversion of
NH-766 as it is limited to facilitate the expansion of Mysuru Airport only.
