Parliament Question: Registration of Granite and Agriculture Sector

SHRI DINESH CHANDRA YADAV: Will the Minister of LABOUR AND EMPLOYMENT be pleased to state: (a)whether the workers in the granite and agriculture sector have been registered in Bihar; and (b)if so, the details thereof along with the number of workers in the said sectors? ANSWER MINISTER OF STATE FOR LABOUR AND EMPLOYMENT (SUSHRI SHOBHA KARANDLAJE) (a) & (b): The Ministry of Labour and Employment launched eShram portal (eshram.gov.in) on 26th August, 2021 for creation of a comprehensive National Database of Unorganised Workers (NDUW) including platform workers, migrant workers etc. The eShram portal registers the unorganised workers including gig and platform workers and provides them a Universal Account Number (UAN) on a self- declaration basis. As on 2nd March 2026, over 31.55 crore unorganised workers have already been registered on eShram portal including over 1.56 crore unorganised workers registered in the mining and agriculture sector in Bihar. *****
