REIMBURSEMENT OF BORDER HOME GUARDS

Will the Minister of HOME AFFAIRS be pleased to state:
(a) whether proposals relating to outstanding claims of Rs. 130.81 crore
have been received by the Union Government from the Government of
Rajasthan for reimbursement of expenditure incurred on Border Home
Guards during the years 2011-12 to 2014-15 and 2019-20 to 2023-24;
(b) if so, the details of the steps proposed to be taken by the Union
Government for reimbursement of the said amount in accordance with the
prescribed cost-sharing pattern under which 75 per cent of the
expenditure is to be borne by the Union Government; and
(c) if not, the reasons therefor?

(a) to (c): The reimbursement claims submitted by the Government of
Rajasthan for expenditure incurred on Border Home Guards for the period
2011-12 to 2020-21 have already been settled and a sum of Rs. 113.50
crores has been released to the State against these claims. The
reimbursement claims for the years 2021-22 to 2023-24 have not been
settled as the Central Government had taken a decision to discontinue
the financial support by way of reimbursement by the Central Government
on Home Guards in a phased manner by the end of financial year 2020-21.
