GEETA ALIAS CHANDRAPRABHA: Will the Minister of COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY be pleased to state: (a) the key achievements under the Remission of Duties and Taxes on Exported Products (RoDTEP) Scheme since its implementation; (b) the total amount of remission disbursed under RoDTEP during 2021-22 to 2025-26, sector and year-wise; (c) the number of exporters benefited under RoDTEP during 2021-22 to 2025-26; (d) the major product categories notified with applicable rates to enhance the competitiveness of Indian exports; and (e) the steps taken to improve transparency and efficiency through digital implementation of the scheme, and the proposals, if any, for expansion of product coverage or revision of notified rates? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY (SHRI JITIN PRASADA) (a) to (e) The Remission of Duties and Taxes on Exported Products (RoDTEP) Scheme, implemented from 1 January 2021, refunds embedded taxes and duties that are not otherwise rebated under any other mechanism. The scheme helps ensure that Indian exports remain competitive in global markets by neutralizing such taxes in a WTO-compliant manner. Since its implementation, the scheme has supported a significant share of India’s merchandise exports and has benefitted a large number of exporters across sectors. Labour-intensive sectors such as textiles and apparel, marine products, agricultural products, chemicals, and engineering goods are among the key beneficiaries. These sectors account for a substantial share of RoDTEP support and contribute significantly to employment generation and export growth. 1Total amount of remission disbursed under RoDTEP during 2021-22 to 2025-26, sector and year-wise, is as follows: RoDTEP Amount (Rs. in Cr.) The applicable rates of remission under the scheme is available at : https://www.dgft.gov.in/CP/?opt=RoDTEP RoDTEP is implemented through a fully digital system integrated with the Customs Automated System, under which duty credit scrips are generated electronically and maintained in an electronic ledger. This has improved transparency, reduced processing time, and enabled seamless utilisation of credits for payment of customs duties. The Government periodically reviews the scheme, including product coverage and applicable rates, based on sectoral representations, data analysis, and recommendations of the RoDTEP Committee, to ensure that the scheme continues to support export competitiveness. ***** 2
