(a) whether the Government is aware that the stretch from Banarpal to Pallahada at National Highway (NH)-149 in Angul district of Odisha is in dilapidated condition and if so, the details thereof; and
(b) the date on which the above stretch is likely to be repaired? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF ROAD TRANSPORT AND HIGHWAYS (SHRI NITIN JAIRAM GADKARI)
(a) to (b) The status in Annexed.ANNEXURE REFERRED TO IN REPLY TO PART (a) AND (b) OF LOK SABHA UNSTARRED QUESTION NO. 4621 ANSWERED ON 21ST AUGUST, 2025 ASKED BY SHRI RUDRA NARAYAN PANY REGARDING ‘REPAIRING OF NH- 149’.
Status of stretch from Banarpal to Pallahada S.No. Stretch Status 1 Banarpal to Work of 4-laning has been awarded and Appointed Date is Ballahar pending. Routine maintenance is being done by the Chowk Concessionaire.
2 Ballahar The stretch is part of Talcher to End of Kamakhyanagar Chowk to section of NH 149 & 53. The 4-laning of this project has Pitiri already been completed. Presently, this stretch is under Defect Liability Period and it is being maintained by the existing EPC Contractor and this stretch is in good condition.
3 Pitiri to Strengthening of the pavement, including overlay works Pallahara has recently been completed for 28 km out of the total 68 km of this stretch. The remaining stretch is maintained by separate maintenance contract. Some potholes/patches are developed wherein repairing works are being taken up regularly by the maintenance Contractor. Presently this stretch is in traffic worthy condition.
