Report of Fact Finding Committee of BHU

Will the Minister of EDUCATION be pleased to state:
(a) whether the Fact Finding Committee constituted by Banaras Hindu University (BHU) vide
notification dated 27.01.2024 in response to Department of Higher Education's communication
dated 09.01.2024 to inquire into various irregularities in the University has submitted its report to
the concerned department;
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) if not, the reasons for delay in submitting the report and the date by which the Report will be
submitted;
(d) whether action has not been taken by the BHU till date on the over glaring irregularities; and
(e) if so, the reasons therefor?

(a) to (e) The Fact Finding Committee constituted by the Vice-Chancellor, Banaras Hindu
University (BHU) in pursuance to the Ministry of Education's letter dated 09.01.2024
communicating the directions of the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) to inquire into
various irregularities in the University, has submitted its report to BHU on 14.03.2024 and a
detailed report has been sent by BHU to CVC on 05.06.2025. As BHU is an autonomous
organisation governed by the Banaras Hindu University Act, 1915 as amended from time to time,
and statutes/ ordinances/ rules and regulations framed thereunder, it has its own well-defined
organizational set up to deal with the complaints of irregularities.
