Will the Minister of PETROLEUM AND NATURAL GAS be pleased to state:
(a) whether there are any retail outlets (petrol pumps) or LPG distribution agencies in thecountry that
are being operated exclusively by a female workforce and if so, the details thereof;
(b) whether any action plan has been prepared to increase the number of fully women-operated
retailoutlets and LPG distribution agencies during the next five years and if so, thedetails thereof;
and
(c) whether the Government is implementing any skill development programmes to empowerwomen
and if so, the details thereof ?

(a) and (b): Public Sector Oil Marketing Companies (PSU OMCs) have informed that sales personnel- men
and women at the Retail Outlets (RO) and LPG Distributorship are employees of RO dealers/LPG
distributors and are appointed by such dealers/distributors. OMCs also encourage
dealers/distributors for appointing women employees at retail outlets/distributorships. As on date
approximately 27,340 and 31,300 number of women employees are part of work force at ROs and
LPG Distributorships respectively.
There are 19 Retail outlets which are exclusively operated by women. The details are attached at
annexure.
There is no LPG Distributorship exclusively operated by women in the country.
Appointment of women employees at ROs and LPG distributorships is a continuous process.
(c) OMCs conduct training programmes including skill development programme for RO dealership and
LPG distributorship staff including women work force from time to time.
