SHRI SHAHU SHAHAJI CHHATRAPATI: Will the MINISTER OF ROAD TRANSPORT AND HIGHWAYS सड़क परिवहन औि िाजमार्ग मंत्री be pleased to state: (a) whether the Government has identified infrastructure gaps affecting industrial growth in districts like Kolhapur; and (b) the steps taken to improve road connectivity to industrial clusters? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF ROAD TRANSPORT AND HIGHWAYS (SHRI NITIN JAIRAM GADKARI) (a) to (b) A total of 10 projects have been approved by the Government at an estimated cost of Rs. 10,665 crores for the development of National Highways (NHs) in Kolhapur District during last three years including current year. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has taken up the widening of the Kagal to Satara section of NH- 48 to 6 lanes along with the widening of the Ratnagiri – Kolhapur – Sangli – Solapur section of NH-166 to 4 lanes. These widening projects along with the construction of flyovers and underpasses on National Highway stretches near key industrial areas such as Kagal Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC), Gokul- Shirgaon MIDC, Shiroli MIDC, Mangraichiwadi MIDC, Ajara MIDC and Gadhinglaj (Badyachi Wadi) MIDC within Kolhapur district will ensuresmooth traffic flow and enhance connectivity between industrial clusters in Kolhapur and major urban centers including Mumbai, Pune, Satara, Solapur and Sangli as well as enhance interstate connectivity to districts such as Belagavi, Hubballi (Hubli) and Bangalore in Karnataka. *****
