Will the Minister of RURAL DEVELOPMENT be pleased to state:
(a) whether it is true that the Ministry of Rural Development has
sanctioned 320 kms of connecting roads under Pradhan
MantriJanjatiAdivasiNyayaMahaAbhiyan (PM JANMAN) with
financial sanction of Rs. 280 crores to Particularly Vulnerable
Tribal Group (PVTG) tribal population in Andhra Pradesh;
(b) if so, the details of connecting roads sanctioned and
implemented in the district of Anakapalli having more than
8,500 PVTG tribal population;
(c) the details and status of works of the sanctioned roads in
Anakapalli; and
(d) the expected date of completion of above works?

(a): The Government of India launched the Pradhan
MantriJanjatiAdivasiNyayaMahaAbhiyan (PM-JANMAN) on November
15, 2023, targeting the development of 75 Particularly Vulnerable
Tribal Groups (PVTGs) through 11 critical interventions. The road
connectivity component under PM-JANMAN is being implemented by
the Department of Rural Development as a vertical of Pradhan
Mantri Gram SadakYojana (PMGSY) with an objective to provide
road connectivity to Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTG)
beneficiaries by relaxing the population criteria up to 100 from the
existing 500+ in plain areas and 250+ in NE & Hilly states. A target
of 8000 Km with an outlay of ₹ 8000 crore has been allocated under
this component with a cost ceiling of Rs 1.0 crore/ km by the
Ministry of Tribal Affairs (MoTA), which is the administrative in-
charge for PM-JANMAN.

been constructed as on 28.01.2025. In the State of Andhra Pradesh,
a total of 303 road works of 865.954 km of road length and 33
bridges have been sanctioned with a cost of ₹ 914.44 crore, out of
which 14 roads of length 66.614 Km with the cost of ₹ 29.77 crore
have been completed. State-wise progress under PM-JANMAN is at
Annexure-I.
(b) & (c): Sanctioning of Road projects under PM-JANMAN is
subject to receiving the proposal from the concerned States as per
the eligibility criteria of the programme and target set by the
administrative in-charge, i.e. Ministry of Tribal Affairs (MoTA). As on
date, no proposal received under PM-JANMAN from the district of
Anakapalli in the State of Andhra Pradesh.
