**Summary of Sagarmala Projects in Maharashtra (as of July 25, 2025)**
This document summarizes the status of Sagarmala projects in Maharashtra as provided in response to Lok Sabha Starred Question No. 90 on July 25, 2025.
**Project Status and Funding:**
* A total of 31 projects have been sanctioned under the Sagarmala scheme in Maharashtra.
* 20 projects are completed with a total project cost of Rs. 982.42 Cr, of which Rs. 395.85 Cr was the share from the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways (MoPSW). An amount of Rs. 395.19 Cr has been released.
* 11 projects are under implementation with a total project cost of Rs. 931.70 Cr, of which Rs. 405.76 Cr was the share from MoPSW. An amount of Rs. 333.03 Cr has been released.
**Tribal Hinterland Connectivity:**
* 18 Roll-on/Roll-off (RoRo) ferry projects in Maharashtra, partially funded through the Sagarmala Scheme, are significantly enhancing connectivity to tribal and remote hinterland areas.
**Employment Generation:**
* Sagarmala projects in Maharashtra, primarily executed by the Mumbai Port Authority and the Maharashtra Maritime Board, have generated over 2600 direct and indirect jobs.
**Coastal Logistics and Port-Led Industrialization (Southern Maharashtra):**
* The Government of Maharashtra has established a State Maritime and Waterways Transport Committee (SMWTC) to foster collaboration between state and central agencies. This committee aims to ensure the comprehensive development of maritime and waterways transport in the state, with a focus on southern Maharashtra.

(a) & (b) The details of projects sanctioned, funds allocated/released and along with
the status in respect of projects funded under Sagarmala Scheme in the State of
Maharashtra is annexed. [Annexure I].
(c) There are 18 Ro-Ro projects in the State of Maharashtra partially funded
through Sagarmala Scheme. These Ro-Ro (Roll-on/Roll-off) ferry projects in
Maharashtra are significantly enhancing connectivity to tribal and remote hinterland
areas.
(d) The projects funded under Sagarmala Scheme majorly executed by Mumbai
Port Authority and Maharashtra Maritime Board have generated more than 2600 direct
and indirect employment.
(e) Government of Maharashtra has constituted State Maritime and Waterways
Transport Committee (SMWTC) to foster collaboration between state and central
agencies to ensure the comprehensive development of maritime and waterways
