Parliament Question: Saksham Anganwadi and Poshan 2.0 in Telangana

SHRI ARVIND DHARMAPURI: Will the Minister of WOMEN AND CHILD DEVELOPMENT be pleased to state: (a) the number of Anganwadi centres sanctioned, upgraded and operational under Saksham Anganwadi and Poshan 2.0 in Telangana, district-wise; (b) the amount of funds allocated, released and utilised for the Scheme; (c) the number of beneficiaries covered under the Scheme, district-wise; and (d) the timeline for completion of pending Anganwadi upgradation projects? ANSWER MINISTER OF WOMEN AND CHILD DEVELOPMENT (SHRIMATI ANNPURNA DEVI) (a)to(d) The district wise details of sanctioned and operational Anganwadi Centres and beneficiaries enrolled therein are available at the link: https://www.poshantracker.in/statistics. Under Mission Saksham Anganwadi and Poshan 2.0, two lakh Anganwadi Centres located in Government buildings @ 40,000 AWCs per year are being strengthened as Saksham Anganwadis for delivery of improved nutrition and for Early Childhood Care and Education during the 15th Finance Commission cycle. Saksham Anganwadis are provided with better infrastructure than the conventional Anganwadi centres with LED screens, water filtration system, Poshan Vatika, ECCE material and BALA paintings. A total of 2 lakh AWCs including 5008 AWCs for the State of Telangana have been approved for upgradation across the country as Saksham Anganwadis. An amount of Rs.30.04 cr have been allocated to State of Telangana for upgradation of 5008 AWCs to Saksham Anganwadi centres.
