Shri K Radhakrishnan: Will the Minister of FINANCE be pleased to state: (a) whether the Government has taken note of the reported sale of shares to Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC); (b) if so, whether the Government has examined the likely impact of this transaction on the ownership, management, operational control and commercial interests of the Vizhinjam International Seaport; (c) whether any approval, clearance or scrutiny by the Government or regulatory authorities was required in view of the strategic importance of Vizhinjam Port and, if so, the details thereof; (d) whether the Government has assessed the implications of the transaction on India's maritime security, foreign investment policy, and control over critical port infrastructure; and (e) the measures taken by the Government to safeguard national interest, ensure transparency and protect the strategic and economic importance of Vizhinjam Port in light of the said transaction?
