Will the Minister of JAL SHAKTI be pleased to state:
(a) the total funds allocated, released and utilised under the Swachh Bharat Mission–Gramin
(SBM-G) in Andhra Pradesh since 2014-15, year-wise;
(b) the number of Individual Household Latrines (IHHLs) constructed under SBM-G in the
State, year-wise;
(c) whether all eligible rural households have been covered and if so, the details thereof;
(d) whether the Government has conducted any recent assessments to verify toilet access in
remote and tribal villages of Andhra Pradesh and other States and if so, the outcomes thereof;
and
(e) the measures being taken by the Government to improve outreach, awareness and delivery
of SBM-G benefits in forest, hilly and tribal areas where toilet coverage remains inadequate?

(c) to (d) Govt., of Andhra Pradesh has completed IHHLs construction of saturation basis and
the State has been declared as Open Defecation Free (ODF) on July 2018. Further, Govt of AP
has sanctioned additional incentive amount of Rs.3000/- (along with Rs. 12,000/- as per SBM-
G guidelines) per IHHLs towards transportation of the material in Tribal Areas to provide toilet
access to tribal villages. The Swachha Andhra Corporation, Government of Andhra Pradesh is
conducting an Open Defecation Free (ODF) survey at both the village and household levels
across the state. This survey aims to assess Individual Household Latrine (IHHL) coverage,
identify gaps, and implement necessary interventions to sustain ODF status. Additionally, it
will provide village-level insights into sanitation coverage, waste management, and hygiene
practices. So far, 80% of survey completed and remaining 20% survey is under progress. The
Assessment covers all villages including remote and tribal villages of A.P
(e) As per SBM(G) guidelines, Information Education and Communication (IEC) activities are
conducted to create huge awareness on SBM(G) activities in all villages and Educational
Institutions. Instructions have been issued to the districts to obtain toilets requirement on
priority basis from all eligible beneficiaries and accord necessary sanctions immediately to
complete toilet construction. Sanctions are given and construction taken up on priority basis.
Govt., of Andhra Pradesh has declared third Saturday of every month as Swachh Andhra Day
and every month Swarna Andhra – Swachh Andhra programme is being conducted with
separate themes to create more awareness on Sanitation activities, public participation on SBM
activities. Govt., Orders has been issued to participate all Govt., Officials, Public
Representatives and Hon’ble Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh is also participating in Swarna
Andhra – Swachh Andhra programme.
