with a view to increasing investments, generating employment opportunities and boosting exports in
textile sector;
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) the total number of SITPs under this scheme that has been established in the country, State-wise
including Tamil Nadu along with its status - as on date;
(d) the achievements made by these SITPs in Tamil Nadu;
(e) whether the Union Government has any proposal to review the scheme for the development of textile
sector in Tamil Nadu; and
(f) if so, the details thereof?

(a) to (f): With a view to increasing investments, generating employment opportunities and
boosting exports in the textile sector, the Ministry is implementing Scheme for Integrated Textile Park
(SITP) to provide support for setting up textile parks with world-class, state-of-the-art infrastructure in
textile hubs across the country. The scheme was in implementation upto 31.03.2021, however, the
Scheme has now been subsumed under the umbrella Scheme of Textile Cluster Development Scheme
(TCDS) for completing ongoing projects only.
Under the said scheme, 50 parks were sanctioned including 7 parks in the State of Tamil Nadu. Out of 50
parks, 30 parks have been completed and 20 parks are under various stages of implementation. As of
now, GoI share of Rs. 1,532 crore has been released and employment of 1.23 lakh people has been
generated. The state-wise details of these projects are at Annexure.
In addition to above, the Government has finalized setting up of PM Mega Integrated Textile Region and
Apparel (PM MITRA) Parks at 7 sites viz. Tamil Nadu (Virudhnagar), Telangana (Warangal), Gujarat
(Navasari), Karnataka (Kalaburagi), Madhya Pradesh (Dhar), Uttar Pradesh (Lucknow) and Maharashtra
