SHRI SURESH KUMAR KASHYAP: Will the Minister of HOUSING AND URBAN AFFAIRS be pleased to state: (a) the details of the ongoing works under Shimla Smart City project; (b) the details of the work originally planned, completed, ongoing and yet to be initiated under the project; (c) the date of commencement and the timeline fixed for the Shimla Smart City project; and (d) the details of the funds allocated and utilised? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF HOUSING AND URBAN AFFAIRS (SHRI TOKHAN SAHU) (a) to (c) Under the Smart Cities Mission (SCM), Shimla was selected in round 3 (June 2017). As per the information provided by the Shimla smart city, as on 31.07.2025, out of a total 211 projects amounting to ₹ 896 Cr undertaken under SCM, 208 projects (99% of total projects) amounting to ₹840 Cr have been completed and the remaining 3 projects amounting to ₹ 56 Cr are ongoing. Post the financial closure of SCM on 31st March, 2025, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) has issued Advisory No 27 dated 10th June, 2025 to all States/ UTs. The ongoing projects are in different stages of implementation. The SPVs have been advised to ensure that all their ongoing projects under SCM are completed not later than December, 2025.
