2177. SHRI BASTIPATI NAGARAJU:

Will the Minister of PORTS, SHIPPING AND WATERWAYS be pleased to state: प(cid:517)न, पोत प(cid:303)रवहन एवं जलमाग(cid:330) मं(cid:361)ालय

(a) whether the Government has identified any specific zones for establishing shipbuilding and shipbreaking units under the extended Shipbuilding Financial Assistance Policy;

(b) if so, the details regarding the locations identified, along with projected capacity of such shipbuilding and shipbreaking units in Gross Tonnage and their expected timeline for operationalization, State-wise;

(c) the details regarding the amount of direct subsidy disbursed and the number of beneficiary entities under the said scheme for the State of Andhra Pradesh;

(d) the details of projects supported under the Shipbreaking Credit Note Scheme, including the quantity of scrap processed, the value of credit notes issued and the number of new vessels procured, year and State-wise; and

(e) the total number of employment opportunities generated through shipbuilding and shipbreaking activities, classified into skilled, semi-skilled and unskilled categories during the last five years in the State of Andhra Pradesh?
