451. SHRI RAMBHUAL NISHAD:
Will the Minister of HEAVY INDUSTRIES be pleased to state:
(a) whether the Government has taken or is contemplating to take any steps for constitution of
an expert committee to review the unprecedented growth in the number of sick mills in the
country, particularly in the backward and rural areas of Uttar Pradesh;
(b) if so, the details thereof including the number of sick mills in Uttar Pradesh as on date; and
(c) if not, the reasons therefor?

(a): So far as the Ministry of Heavy Industries (MHI) is concerned, no such committee has
been constituted.
