SHRI IRANNA KADADI: Will the Minister of ROAD TRANSPORT AND HIGHWAYS be pleased to state: (a) the physical progress of the six-laning of the National Highway-48 (Pune-Bengaluru) stretch passing through the Belagavi district; (b) the details of the construction of flyovers and underpasses at the busy junctions like Kittur and Sankeshwar; (c) the measures taken to address the traffic congestion at the toll plazas in the district; (d) the status of the land acquisition and compensation payment for the highway expansion; and (e) the timeline for the completion of the project to ensure smooth flow of traffic on this critical corridor? (c) In Belagavi district, three toll plazas at Hirebagewadi, Hattargi & Kognolli are functioning. The existing toll plazas at Hattargi & Kognolli have been upgraded with improved toll management infrastructure to facilitate faster vehicle movement and reduce congestion. Further, Hybrid Electronic Toll Collection (ETC) system is being upgraded at Hirebagewadi toll plaza for reducing congestion at the toll plaza.
