Will the Minister of SOCIAL JUSTICE AND EMPOWERMENT be pleased to state:
(a) the total number of Scheduled Castes (SCs) student beneficiaries (male, female and others) of
the Scheme for Residential Education for Students in High School in Targeted Areas
(SRESHTA) during the last five years in the country, State and district-wise including Andhra
Pradesh and Bapatla Lok Sabha Constituency;
(b) the details regarding the list of schools selected under the SRESHTA scheme during the last
five years in the country, State and district-wise in Andhra Pradesh and Bapatla Lok Sabha
Constituency;
(c) the details regarding the total amount of funding allocated, released and utilised during the
last five years in the country, State and district-wise in Andhra Pradesh and Bapatla Lok Sabha
Constituency; and
(d) whether the Government has conducted any campaigns to promote/raise awareness about the
SRESHTA scheme, if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefore?

(a) : Under the Scheme for Residential Education for Students in High Schools in Targeted Areas
(SHRESTA), which is a Central Sector Scheme, data is maintained school/project wise and not
district-wise. The details of beneficiaries (School/Project wise) located in States/Union
Territories is at Annexure-I. .
There is no school under SHRESHTA scheme in the Bapatla Lok Sabha Constituency.
(b) : The details State-wise are at Annexure-II.
(c) : The details State-wise are at Annexure-III
(d) : Department of Social Justice and Empowerment has taken various measures like writing to
States/Union Territories to publicize the Scheme amongst schools and motivate SC students to
participate in the SHRESHTA Scheme, facilitating SC students in getting their SC certificates,
etc., apart from publishing Scheme guidelines and National Eligibility Test for SHRESHTA
(NETS), etc., through website of the Department and print media as well.Annexure-I
