Will the Minister of AYUSH be pleased to state:
(a) whether the Government has formulated the State Annual Action Plan (SAAPS) for
Karnataka under the National AYUSH Mission (NAM) for the years 2025-26 and if so, the
details thereof along with the details of the work undertaken under the NAM in the State,
district -wise;
(b) the details of funds allocated to Karnataka under various schemes along with the funds
allocated for setting up of AYUSH hospitals/health and wellness centres and the recurring
expenditure under various heads during the last five years;
(c) the effective steps taken by the Government to develop AYUSH system and
infrastructure in Karnataka during the last five years;
(d) whether the aspirational districts have been kept in mind while developing the said
AYUSH medical system and infrastructure; and
(e) if so, the details thereof?

(a) Government of India is implementing Centrally Sponsored Scheme of National Ayush
Mission through State/UT Governments for overall development and promotion of Ayush
systems in the country. Accordingly, State Annual Action Plans (SAAPs) are being
formulated by respective State/UT Governments as per their felt need and priorities for
different districts against the communicated Resource pool. As far as State Government of
1Karnataka is concerned, they have submitted SAAP amounting to Rs. 8156.03 lakhs
including State share on dated 18.07.2025 for the year 2025-26 against the communicated
resource pool of Rs. 7356.40 lakhs. The component-wise status of communicated resource
pool & received SAAP is furnished at Annexure I.
(b) Under NAM, the status of allocated/released Non-recurring and recurring funds to the
State Government of Karnataka and expenditure reported by them during the last 5 years for
implementation of different approved activities/programmes of SAAPs including setting up
of Ayush hospitals/operationalization of Ayush Health & Wellness Centres now renamed as
Ayushman Arogya Mandir (Ayush) is furnished at Annexure II.
(c) to (e) Public Health being a state subject, the responsibility for development of Ayush
system and infrastructures in the State of Karnataka including aspirational districts lies with
respective State Government. However, under NAM State Government of Karnataka has
been supported for development and promotion of Ayush systems including infrastructure
support as per the proposals received through SAAPs. The major initiative/ activities
supported to the State Government of Karnataka during the last 5 years is furnished as
Annexure III.

Major initiatives/activities supported as per the proposals received through SAAPs
from State Government of Karnataka during the last five years
(i) 02 units of 50 bedded Integrated Ayush hospitals at Gadaga and Mangalore & one Unit of 10
bedded IAH at Thirthahalli have been supported.
(ii) 120 Ayush facilities including Ayush hospitals & dispensaries have been supported for
Up-gradation of infrastructure and other facilities.
(iiii) 645 colocated Ayush facilities including Ayush hospitals & dispensaries & 376
Ayushman Arogya Mandir AAM (Ayush) have been supported for supply of essential Ayush
medicines on an average in each year.
(iv) 02 units supported for establishment of New Ayush Educational Institutions.
(v) 07 including 02 Under-Graduate and 05 Post-Graduate Ayush Educational Institutes have
been supported for Upgradation of infrastructure, Library and other things including Under-
Graduate and Post-Graduate in Karnataka.
(vi) 05 Public Health Programmes & 25 Ayush Gram have been supported during last five in
Karnataka.
(vii) 376Ayushman Arogya Mandir (Ayush) have been upgraded from existing Ayush
Dispensaries and made functional in Karnataka.
