ANSWER
Minister of State in the Ministry of CIVIL AVIATION (Shri Murlidhar
Mohol)
(a) to (d): Adilabad airfield belongs to the Indian Air Force (IAF). On the request of the
Government of Telangana, the Airports Authority of India (AAI) conducted a Techno-
Economic Feasibility Study (TEFS) for development of an airport at Adilabad. The land
requirements for various categories of aircraft operations have also been communicated by
AAI to the State Government.
As per the Techno-Economic Feasibility Report (TEFR) for development of an airport at
Bhadradri-Kothagudem (Palvancha Village), the proposed site has been found to be
infeasible.
Further, Basant Nagar (Ramagundam) airport has also been found infeasible due to the
presence of surrounding high hills causing obstructions in approach surfaces, including Inner
Horizontal Surface (IHS) and Outer Horizontal Surface (OHS).
