SHRI PRADEEP PUROHIT: Will the Minister of RAILWAYS be pleased to state: (a) the details of the present status of the ongoing Bargarh–Nuapada railway line project, including the progress achieved so far in terms of survey, land acquisition, sanction, and construction; (b) whether the Government has fixed any timeline for completion of this railway line and if so, the details thereof; (c) whether adequate budgetary allocation has been made for the project in the current financial year and if so, the details thereof; and; (d) the details of the steps being taken by the Government to ensure timely execution of the project in order to improve connectivity in western Odisha? ANSWER MINISTER OF RAILWAYS, INFORMATION & BROADCASTING AND ELECTRONICS & INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (SHRI ASHWINI VAISHNAW) (a) to (d): Bargarh Road – Nawapara Road New Line (138 Km) Railway Project has been sanctioned at a cost of ₹ 2,622 Crore. ….2/--2- The project has been notified as a ‘Special Railway Project’ for land acquisition. Competent Authority for Land Acquisition (CALA) has also been appointed for both Bargarh and Nawapara Districts. Preliminary Notification has been issued for acquisition of land of 73 villages. Various steps taken by the Government for speedy approval and implementation of Railway projects include (i) provision of adequate funds (ii) delegation of powers at field level (iii) close monitoring of progress of project at various levels, and (iv) regular follow up with State Governments and concerned authorities for expeditious land acquisition, forestry and Wildlife clearances and for resolving other issues pertaining to projects.
