kilometer tunnel connecting Shiv Murti–Mahipalpur to Nelson Mandela
Road in Vasant Kunj, South Delhi;
(b) whether this tunnel aims to establish a fully signal-free corridor
between South Delhi, Dwarka and Gurugram and if so, the anticipated
benefits in terms of travel time and reduction in pollution;
(c) whether this corridor is being integrated with major expressways
such as the Dwarka Expressway and Urban Extension Road-II to
enhance multi-directional urban connectivity, if so, the details thereof;
(d) the measures being taken to ensure timely completion of the
project while minimizing traffic disruption and air pollution during
construction; and
(e) the present status and estimated completion timeline of the Delhi–
Dehradun Expressway (National Highway 709B)?

THE MINISTER OF ROAD TRANSPORT AND HIGHWAYS
(SHRI NITIN JAIRAM GADKARI)(a) to (d) For de-congestion of Delhi, especially the Dhaula Kuan- Indira
Gandhi International (IGI) Airport-Gurugram section of NH-48, the
work of preparation of Detailed Project Report (DPR) has been taken
up for the construction of tunnel connecting Shiv Murti (Mahipalpur) to
Nelson Mandela Marg in Delhi. It would be connected with NH-48
and Dwarka Expressway through an interchange.
Decisions of investment and implementation of the project will
be taken based on outcome of DPR, fulfillment of the criteria, inter-se
priority and synergy with PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan.
(e) Delhi–Dehradun Expressway (National Highway 709B) is under
implementation stage and same is targeted for its completion by
October 2025.
