Shri Pushpendra Saroj: Will the Minister of EDUCATION be pleased to state: (a) the number and names of Higher Educational Institutions in Uttar Pradesh that have been supported by Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA) along with the details of funds sanctioned/disbursed under each of its components, district-wise; (b) the details of new model degree colleges that have been established in Uttar Pradesh under RUSA during the last five years; (c) whether the Government has received any proposals from State Government of Uttar Pradesh for setting up of Colleges/Universities under PM-USHA Scheme; (d) if so, the details thereof; and (e) the details of funds sanctioned and disbursed under PM-USHA by the Government for the same? ANSWER MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION (Dr. SUKANTA MAJUMDAR) (a) to (e): The government has launched the third phase of Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA) in June 2023 in the form of Pradhan Mantri Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (PM-USHA), with an outlay of Rs. 12926.10 crore, including the committed liabilities of the earlier phase of RUSA, for the period 2023-24 to 2025-26, to cater to the needs of educationally unserved/ underserved areas. All the 615 units under PM-USHA have been approved in various States /UTs with a total amount of Rs. 8178.71 Crore under various components. In the State of Uttar Pradesh, under RUSA, a total of 138 projects with a total central support of Rs. 553.89 crore have been approved under various components, including 26 New Model Degree Colleges (NMDCs) with a central support of Rs. 187.2 crore, which are functional as per the information furnished by the State. The details of projects approved under RUSA in Uttar Pradesh is given at Annexure – I.However, based on the proposals submitted by the State under PM-USHA under various components, a total of 66 projects with a central support of Rs. 606.98 crore were approved in the State.
