SHRIKANT EKNATH SHINDE: SHRI SHRIRANG APPA CHANDU BARNE: Will the Minister of HOUSING AND URBAN AFFAIRS be pleased to state: (a) the present status of the Smart Cities Mission (SCM) in Maharashtra including the number and the details of projects completed; (b) the details of the total funds sanctioned, released and utilised so far for each of these cities in Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh specifying project types such as urban mobility, water supply, waste management and digital infrastructure, city-wise; (c) whether any timeframe has been fixed to develop these cities and achieve the targets or complete the projects under the Smart Cities Mission in Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh and if so, the details thereof, city-wise; and (d) the reasons for delays, if any, encountered in project execution in Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh including administrative, financial or environmental challenges and the time by which each of these cities are likely to be fully developed and targets are achieved, city-wise? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF HOUSING AND URBAN AFFAIRS (SHRI MANOHAR LAL) (a) to (d): A Statement is laid on the Table of the House.STATEMENT REFERRED TO IN REPLY OF PARTS (a) to (d) OF THE LOK SABHA STARRED QUESTION NO. 75 FOR ANSWER ON 04.12.2025 REGARDING STATUS OF SMART CITIES MISSION (a) & (b) Under Smart Cities Mission (SCM), in the State of Maharashtra 08 cities, viz. Aurangabad, Kalyan-Dombivali, Nagpur, Nashik, Pimpri Chinchwad, Pune, Solapur and Thane were selected. As reported by the State, as on 01.12.2025, out of a total 347 projects amounting to ₹16,981 crore, 330 projects (95% of total projects) amounting to ₹15,505 crore have been completed and the remaining 17 projects amounting to ₹1,476 crore are ongoing. In the State of Madhya Pradesh, 07 cities, viz. Bhopal, Gwalior, Indore, Jabalpur, Sagar, Satna and Ujjain have been selected under SCM. The ongoing projects are in different stages of implementation.
