Parliament Question: Status of Vadodara–Mumbai Expressway

HEMANT VISHNU SAVARA: Will the Minister of ROAD TRANSPORT AND HIGHWAYS सड़क परिवहन औि िाजमार्ग मंत्री be pleased to state: (a) the current status of the Vadodara-Mumbai Expressway, particularly the stretches falling in Palghar district, Maharashtra; (b) the details of the sanctioned length, project cost, physical progress, and expenditure incurred on this Expressway, section-wise particularly in the Palghar district section; (c) whether any land acquisition, environmental clearance or other implementation issues have delayed the project, if so, the details thereof; and (d) the expected timeline for completion and opening of the Palghar district stretches of the Vadodara-Mumbai Expressway, section-wise? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF ROAD TRANSPORT AND HIGHWAYS (SHRI NITIN JAIRAM GADKARI) (a), (b) & (d) The current status of the Vadodara-Mumbai Expressway (VME) is annexed. (c) Yes Sir. The projects have been delayed due to land acquisition, environmental clearance, utility shifting etc. The details are as under:1). Vadodara Mumbai Expressway (VME) Package-15: Utility Shifting Issues: Delay in providing shutdown by Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Company Limited (MSETCL) for 220 kV from Ch. 34+440 to 35+500, Village Pundas, Taluka Bhiwandi Length affected: 60 Mtr. 2) Vadodara Mumbai Expressway (VME) Package-16: (i) Land Acquisition (LA) Issues: Acquisition of 0.83 hectare in village Balyani, Taluka, Kalyan district is under progress. Length affected: 50 Mtr. (ii) Utility Shifting Issues: Delay in Shifting of 1 no of 100 KV, 7 Nos. of 400kV EHV lines of MSETCL due to extended time taken by MSETCL in approval of designs, drawings and delay in providing shutdown for 1 no of 100 KV EHV line for length affected. 0.7Km. 3) Vadodara Mumbai Expressway (VME) Package-17: LA Issues: Land for construction of interchange at Morbe is to be provided by Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC).
