Will the Minister of JAL SHAKTI be pleased to state:
(a) the current status of the Yettinahole project;
(b) whether all surveys, clearances and ground-level works have begun and if so, the number
of the planned works completed so far;
(c) whether the Government has the stated goal to supply drinking water to about seventy five
lakh people across nine districts within two years and if so, the details thereof, district-wise
along with the number of people per district and the proportion of the total target population
that has already started receiving water supply;
(d) the total estimated cost of the Yettinahole project as approved and utilised till date and the
projected expenditure likely to be incurred during the next two years to meet the target; and
(e) the measures being taken to ensure sustainable water distribution, prevent wastage, maintain
quality standards and guarantee equitable supply across all nine districts, especially in the most
water-scarce and hilly regions?

(a) to (e) The Government of India, in partnership with States/UTs, implements the Jal Jeevan
Mission (JJM) to provide functional tap water connections to every rural household (at 55 lpcd,
BIS:10500 standard). As drinking water is a State subject, the primary responsibility for
planning, implementation, operation, and maintenance of these schemes lies with the respective
State/UT Governments. The Central Government offers essential technical and financial
assistance to support the states in this mission.
Yettinahole Project is a State project, funded and executed by the State government of
Karnataka.
