Representations, including one from Shri Dulu Mahato, have been received for a stoppage of the Ranchi-Varanasi Vande Bharat Express at NSCB Gomoh station.

STOPPAGE FOR RANCHI-VARANASI VANDE BHARAT EXPRESS AT GOMOH JUNCTION

Will the Minister of RAILWAYS be pleased to state:
(a) whether any formal request has been made to the Government to ensure a
stoppage of the Ranchi-Varanasi Vande Bharat Express (20887/20888) at Gomoh
Junction, a major station in Dhanbad district and if so, the details thereof;
(b) whether the Government aware that the Vande Bharat Express (20887/20888)
has many vacant seats and thousands of passengers, students, workers and
pilgrims travel through Gomoh Junction daily and a stoppage there would be very
useful for passengers and if so, the details thereof;
(c) whether the Government is considering to enhance regional connectivity and
passenger convenience by providing a stoppage at Gomoh Junction; and
(d) if so, the details of the steps taken or proposed to be taken in future?

(a) to (d) At present, NSCB Gomoh station is being served by 90 train services
including 04 Vande Bharat and 06 Rajdhani Experss services which include 09
pairs of trains connecting NSCB Gomoh to Ranchi and 08 pairs of train services
connecting it to Varanasi.
Besides, provision of stoppage of train services is a continuous process on
Indian Railways depending upon traffic justification, operational feasibility and
availability of resources etc.
During 2024-25 and 2025-26 (upto October,25) the overall occupancy of
20887/20888 Ranchi-Varanasi Vande Bharat Express has been more than 100%.
Representations including from the Hon’ble Member of Parliament Shri Dulu
Mahato, has been received for provision of stoppage of 20887/20888 Ranchi-
Varanasi Vande Bharat Express at NSCB Gomoh station.
