Parliament Question: Stoppages of Express Trains at Koilakuntla and Panyam Railway Stations

GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF RAILWAYS LOK SABHA STARRED QUESTION NO. 350 TO BE ANSWERED ON 12.08.2026 STOPPAGES OF EXPRESS TRAINS AT KOILAKUNTLA AND PANYAM RAILWAY STATIONS *350. DR. BYREDDY SHABARI: Will the Minister of RAILWAYS be pleased to state: (a) whether the Government has received representations seeking stoppages of certain express trains at Koilakuntla and Panyam Railway Stations in Andhra Pradesh and if so, the details thereof; (b) whether the Railways has reviewed the passenger demand, operational feasibility and revenue potential for providing such stoppages and if so, the details thereof; (c) whether any proposal for permanent stoppage of Train No. 17261/17262 at Koilakuntla and stoppage of Train No. 17442/17443 at Koilakuntla is under consideration and if so, the present status thereof; and (d) whether any proposal for providing stoppages of Train Nos. 17251/17252/17253/17254 at Panyam station has been examined and if so, the outcome thereof? These services provide connectivity inter alia to destinations like Machilipatnam, Dharmavaram, Guntur, Tirupati, Nandyal, Renigunta. The list of trains serving Koilakuntla is as under:- SN Train No. & Name 1 17215 Machilipatnam-Dharmavaram Express 2 17216 Dharmavaram -Machilipatnam Express 3 17261 Guntur -Tirupati Express 4 17262 Tirupati-Guntur Express 5 77211 Nandyal-Renigunta DMU 6 77212 Renigunta -Nandyal DMU Similarly, Panyam is presently served by 08 train services. These services provide connectivity inter alia to destinations like Dhone, Guntur, Hubballi, Vijayawada, Guntakal, Nandyal. Accordingly, the following 36 train services having scheduled stoppage at Page 1 of 3Nandyal and providing connectivity for important destinations like Kolkata, Bengaluru, Bhubaneswar, Vijayawada, Guntur, etc. also cater to the needs of Koilakuntla and Panyam. These are examined and action as found feasible and justified is taken from time to time, which is an on-going process. Besides, provision of stoppages, are on-going processes, on Indian Railways, subject to operational feasibility, resource availability, traffic justification etc. ***** Page 3 of 3
