STRENGTHENING PHARMACYEDUCATIONIN MANIPUR
3285.PROF.ANGOMCHABIMOLAKOIJAM:
Will the Minister of HEALTH AND FAMILYWELFARE be pleasedtostate:
(a) whether the Government is aware that the State of Manipur does not have a Government
institution offering the Bachelor of Pharmacy (B. Pharm) programme, while the Government
Polytechnic, Takyel, Manipur has been offering the Diploma in Pharmacy (D. Pharm)
programme for several years;
(b) if so, the detailsthereof;
(c) whether the Central Government has received any proposal from the Government of
Manipur for the establishment of a Government Degree College Pharmacy or for upgrading
the existing Government Polytechnic, Takyel,into a Degree levelPharmacyinstitution; and
(d) if so, the detailsthereof, including the status of such proposal and anyfinancial assistance
proposed or sanctionedbythe Government?

(a) to (d): Government Polytechnic, Takyel, Manipur is currently conducting the Diploma in
Pharmacy(D. Pharm.)course, which hasbeenapprovedfor the academic session 2026–27by
the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI). However,the Central Government hasnot received any
proposal from the Government of Manipur for either the establishment of a Government
Pharmacy College offering degree-level pharmacy courses or the upgradation of the existing
Government Polytechnic, Takyelintoa degree-level pharmacyinstitution.
