Shri Janardan Singh Sigriwal: Will the Minister of YOUTH AFFAIRS AND SPORTS be pleased to state: (a) whether the Government has undertaken any measures for the development and strengthening of sports infrastructure in the State of Bihar during the last five years and the current year; (b) if so, the details of the sports infrastructure projects sanctioned, completed and under implementation in the said State during the said period, year and district-wise; (c) the details of funds sanctioned, released and utilized by the Government under the various schemes including the Khelo India Scheme (KIS) for development of sports infrastructure in Bihar during the last ten years, year-wise; (d) whether any proposals for establishment/upgradation of stadiums, sports complexes and training centres received from the State Government during the said period; and (e) if so, the details thereof along with the status of approval, release of fund and completion of such projects? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF YOUTH AFFAIRS & SPORTS [ DR. MANSUKH MANDAVIYA ] (a) and (b) ‘Sports’ being a State subject, the responsibility for development of sports, including development and strengthening of sports infrastructure, rests primarily with the respective State/Union Territory Governments. The Union Government supplements these Page 1 of 2efforts by bridging critical gaps. The Khelo India Scheme and National Sports Development Fund (NSDF), implemented by this Ministry, under which financial assistance for development of sports infrastructure is provided are demand-driven schemes. The proposals received from the State/ Union Territory Governments and other eligible entities are considered for financial support, subject to their completeness, technical feasibility and availability of funds under the scheme. The details of the sports infrastructure projects approved and their sanctioned cost, funds released and their physical and financial progress, under the Khelo India Scheme and National Sports Development Funds (NSDF), across the country, including in State of Bihar, are available in public domain on the dashboards of the Ministry at https://mdsd.kheloindia.gov.in and http://www.nsdf.yas.gov.in/nsdf- glance.html, respectively. (c) Funds are allocated and released Scheme-wise and not State/UT- wise.
