Will the Minister of MICRO, SMALL AND MEDIUM ENTERPRISES be pleased to state:
(a) the number of eligible beneficiaries who have been provided subsidies in the MSME sector
during the last two years in Uttar Pradesh including Lalganj Lok Sabha Constituency and Azamgarh
district;
(b) the number of applications received from unemployed persons in Uttar Pradesh including
Lalganj Lok Sabha Constituency and Azamgarh district during the last two years and the number of
such applications provided benefits thereof;
(c) the number of unemployed persons who have been provided employment during the last five
years in the Lalganj Lok Sabha Constituency and Azamgarh district and the number of among them
given exemption or subsidies by the Government;
(d) whether the Government had set any targets for employment generation in MSME sector
during the last two years and the extent to which those targets have been achieved; and
(e) the number of eligible beneficiaries who are yet to receive subsidies across the country
including Uttar Pradesh and the reasons for not providing the subsidies?

(c): During the last five years i.e. from FY 2020-21 to FY 2024-25, 40 micro entrepreneurs in
Lalganj Lok Sabha Constituency and 1620 micro entrepreneurs in Azamgarh district were assisted
with Margin Money subsidy in setting up micro enterprises under PMEGP thereby generating
estimated employment of 320 persons and 1620 persons respectively.
(d): PMEGP being a credit linked central sector scheme, no allocation of targets for employment
generation are done. Details on number of estimated employment opportunities generated under
PMEGP during the last two years is given below:

(e): Under PMEGP, once an application is submitted by an applicant, a scrutiny is carried out by
Implementing agencies before the application is forwarded to the Bank for taking a credit decision.
Banks appraise the projects and take their own credit decision on the basis of viability of each
project. Therefore, the final sanction and release of loan is done at the level of the concerned Bank.
The Government provides financial assistance in the form of Margin Money (MM) Subsidy to
successful beneficiaries whose projects have been duly sanctioned by the Banks subject to
availability of funds under PMEGP and in accordance with the prescribed guidelines.
