Will the Minister of RAILWAYS be pleased to state:
(a) whether the Government is taking any steps to start a superfast
train service like Vande Bharat or Rajdhani between Silchar and New
Delhi; and
(b) if so, the details of the names of stations proposed between Silchar
and Delhi alongwith time limit set to start this service?

(a) & (b) Silchar is presently being served by 15 pairs of train services
which include the services of 14037/38 Silchar-New Delhi Poorvottar
Sampark Kranti Expess providing connectivity to Delhi. Passengers of
Silchar may also avail the service of 20501/02 Agartala-New Delhi
Tejas Rajdhani Express from Badarpur.
Besides, introduction of train services is an ongoing process on Indian
Railways subject to traffic justification, operational feasibility,
resource availability etc.
