GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF CHEMICALS AND FERTILIZERS DEPARTMENT OF FERTILIZERS LOK SABHA UNSTARRED QUESTION NO. 2174 TO BE ANSWERED ON: 12.12.2025 SUPPLY OF FERTILIZERS 2174: SHRI S JAGATHRATCHAKAN: Will the Minister of CHEMICALS AND FERTILIZERS be pleased to state: (a) the details and quantity of fertilisers, including Urea, DAP, MOP and NPK Complex, requested by each State in the country and the quantity actually allocated and supplied by the Union Government during the last five years, State-wise, year- wise and fertiliser-wise; (b) the details of shortfall, if any, between the requested and supplied quantities during the same period, State-wise; (c) whether any delay was reported in the supply or distribution of fertilisers to Tamil Nadu during the last five years, and if so, the reasons therefor; and (d) whether the Government has undertaken any assessment on the manner in which shortfalls or delays in fertiliser supply have impacted crop yield, farmer income or seasonal cultivation patterns in the country and if so, details of findings thereof, State-wise including Tamil Nadu? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF CHEMICALS & FERTILIZERS (SMT. ANUPRIYA PATEL) (a) to (d) Following steps are taken by the Government every season for ensuring timely and adequate availability of fertilizers in the country, including the State of Tamil Nadu: (i) Before the commencement of each cropping season, Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare (DA&FW), in consultation with all the State Governments, assesses the State-wise & month-wise requirement of fertilizers.-2- (ii) On the basis of requirement projected by DA&FW, D/o Fertilizers allocates adequate quantities of fertilizers to States by issuing monthly supply plan and continuously monitors the availability. (iii) The movement of all major subsidized fertilizers is monitored throughout the country by an on-line web-based monitoring system called integrated Fertilizer Management System (iFMS). (iv) The State Governments are regularly advised to coordinate with manufacturers and importers for streamlining the supplies through timely placement of indents. (v) Regular Weekly Video Conference is conducted jointly by DA&FW and D/o Fertilizers with State Agriculture Officials and corrective actions are taken to dispatch fertilizer as indicated by the State Governments. However, the assessment and distribution of fertilizers within the State at district level is done by the concerned State government. Accordingly, the information regarding requirement, availability and sales of fertilizers viz. Urea, DAP, MOP and NPKS across the States, including the State of Tamil Nadu, during the last 5 years is placed at Annexure. *******-3- Annexure Annexure referred to in reply to part (a) to (d) of Lok
