state:
(a) Whether the Government is aware that mobile exports have surged by 95 per cent to
USD 1.8 billion in September defying the usual seasonal slowdown;
(b) if so, the reasons attributed to this growth and the sectors or companies contributing
most to the export increase;
(c) The contribution of Maharashtra-based mobile manufacturing and assembly units
including those in Mumbai, Pune and Nashik to the overall mobile export figures;
(d) Whether the Government has provided any incentives such as under the PLI scheme
for electronics to promote mobile exports from Maharashtra and if so, the details
thereof;
(e) The measures taken to further enhance production capacity, technology adoption and
international market access for mobile manufacturers in Maharashtra; and
(f) Whether the Government proposes to introduce additional policy support or
infrastructure development to sustain and expand mobile exports from Maharashtra in
the coming years, if so, the details thereof?

(a) In September 2025, smartphone exports (HS Code 85171300) were USD 1681.95
Million, registering an increase of 82% as compared to USD 922.96 Million in September
2024.
(b) The growth in smartphone exports is primarily attributable to the Government of India’s
policies aimed at enhancing India’s competitiveness and integrating the country into
1Global Value Chains. Apple and Samsung are the two companies contributing the most
towards the increasing exports.
(c) Smartphone exports during Apr-Sept 2025 were USD 13.38 Billion out of which the
contribution of Maharashtra was USD 309.66 Million.
(d) to (f) The Schemes of Government of India like Production linked Incentive (PLI),
Scheme for Promotion of Manufacturing of Electronic Components and
Semiconductors, Electronic Manufacturing Clusters, Electronics Component
Manufacturing Scheme, continuous focus of Government under ‘Make in India’,
Manufacturing Mission announced in Budget FY 2025-26 and Export Promotion Mission
are pan-India initiatives, not limited to any particular State. Further, the benefits are
granted to the Companies (Selected after due process), who decide the location of its
units. 10 companies are approved under PLI Scheme for Large Scale Electronics
Manufacturing including for smartphone manufacturing, none of which are located in
Maharashtra.
