In response to Unstarred Question No. 633 regarding the survey and distribution of equipment to persons with disabilities in Valmikinagar Lok Sabha Constituency, the Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment (Shri B. L. Verma) stated that under the Assistance to Persons with Disabilities for Purchase/Fitting of Aids and Appliances (ADIP) Scheme, the Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO) conducts assessment-cum-distribution camps. During FY 2024-25, camps were conducted on February 27 and 28, 2025, in Valmikinagar Lok Sabha Constituency, Paschim Champaran, Bihar, providing 160 assistive devices worth Rs. 18.19 lakh to 115 beneficiaries.

SURVEY OF DISABLED PERSONS IN VALMIKINAGAR

Will the Minister of SOCIAL JUSTICE AND EMPOWERMENT be pleased to state:
(a) whether the survey in regard to divyang persons (Persons with Disabilities) has not
been conducted during the last one year and the equipments have also not been distributed
in Valmikinagar Lok Sabha Constituency;
(b) if so, the time by which the said survey is likely to be conducted and whether any request has
been made for conducting the said survey through a letter; and
(c) if so, the details thereof?

(a) to (c) Under the Assistance to Persons with Disabilities for Purchase/Fitting of Aids and
Appliances (ADIP) Scheme, the Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India
(ALIMCO), a Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE) under the administrative control of the
Department, is one of the major implementing agency. ALIMCO conducts assessment-cum-
distribution camps at the district level for the distribution of aids and assistive devices to
Divyangjan across the country. During FY 2024–25, distribution camps were conducted on
27.02.2025 and 28.02.2025 at Valmikinagar Lok Sabha Constituency, Paschim Champaran,
Bihar, wherein 115 beneficiaries were provided 160 assistive devices worth Rs.18.19 lakh under
the ADIP Scheme.
