Will the MINISTER OF HEALTH AND FAMILYWELFARE be pleased to
state:
(a) the objectives/focus areas of the Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan and its health outcomes particularly in improving maternal health indicators, State/UT-wise and district-wise;
(b) the manner in which the Abhiyaan is being implemented in convergence with health and nutrition initiatives alongwith district specific strategies in aspirational districts/regions;
(c) the number of beneficiaries registered/amount disbursed under Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY) till November 2025, State/UT-wise including Dumka district of Jharkhand;
(d) the steps taken to strengthen services at Anganwadi Centres including capacity building, monitoring through Poshan Tracker, infrastructure upgradation/service delivery improvement, State-wise;
(e) whether the Government proposes any additional initiatives to enhance outreach, nutritional awareness/maternal-child health services for women in rural, tribal and backward regions of the country, if so, the details thereof, State/UT-wise; and
(f) whether Baghpat Parliamentary Constituency is covered thereunder, if so, the details thereof and if not, proposed timeline for inclusion? ANSWER THE MINISTER OFHEALTH AND FAMILYWELFARE (SHRI JAGAT PRAKASH NADDA)
(a)to (f) AStatement is laid on the Table of the House.STATEMENT REFERRED TO IN REPLYTO LOK SABHA STARRED QUESTION NO.94 FOR 5TH DECEMBER, 2025
(a) The โSwasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan (SNSPA)โ campaign was conducted between the period of 17th September 2025 to 2nd October 2025 by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) and the Ministry of Women and Child Development (MoWCD). It aimed at strengthening healthcare services for women and children across India, with a focus on improving access, quality care, and awareness through Jan Bhagidaari.
The following activities have been conducted during the campaign: ๏ท 19.7 lakh countrywide dedicated health camps with a footfall of more than 11 crores on all healthcare platforms to provide screenings and specialist and telemedicine services, including counselling activities.
๏ท Provision of medical and health services for women including check-up for ENT, Eye, Dental check-up. ๏ท Promoting healthy lifestyles such as reducing obesity, local and regional food, distribution of Take Home Ration (THR).
๏ท Focusing on women's health, including screenings for oral, breast and cervical cancer, anaemia, hypertension, diabetes, tuberculosis and sickle cell diseases. ๏ท Providing maternal and child health services, such as antenatal care (ANC) checkups and immunization and Early Childhood Care and Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF) practices.
๏ท Raising awareness about nutrition, menstrual hygiene, and mental health. ๏ท Active participation of citizens for voluntary blood donation, Nikshay Mitra Volunteer and organ donor registration. ๏ท Distribution of digital cards and special registration including Mother and Child Protection (MCP) Card, Sickle Cell card, Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana
(PMMVY) enrolment and registration of beneficiary on POSHAN Tracker. ๏ท Poshan Maah was also observed at Anganwadis to promote nutrition, health awareness, and overall well-being during the SNSPA.
The State/UT-wise coverage of SNSPAis placed at Annexure-I and II.
(b) The Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan was implemented throughout the country with close convergence of various Ministries as stakeholders to ensure comprehensive service delivery for women, adolescents, and children at the grassroots level. The printed information Education and Communication (IEC) in regional languageswasprovidedtomaximizetheoutreachduringthecampaign.In additionto theprovisionof comprehensive screening,counselling, dedicatedcamps, and specialist services provided by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare
(MoHFW), the key activities of Ministry of Women and Child Development
(MoWCD) are given as under: ๏ท Promoting healthy local dietary practices and sustainable food systems. ๏ท Raising awareness about maternal and child nutrition, and Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF) practices.
๏ท Encouraging reduced consumption of oil and sugar to combat obesity. ๏ท Integrating early childhood care and education initiatives (Poshan Bhi Padhai Bhi). ๏ท A special registration drive for the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana
(PMMVY) (a maternity benefit program) to ensure eligible pregnant and lactating mothers receive cash incentives.
(c) As per the information received from Ministry of Women and Child Development
(MoWCD), the number of beneficiaries registered and amount disbursed under the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY), State/UT wise and Jharkhand including Dumka district from 1st January 2017 till 30th November 2025, is placed at Annexure-III.
(d) As per the information provided by Ministry of Women and Child Development
(MoWCD), various steps taken to strengthen services at Anganwadi Centres (AWCs)
are given as under: ๏ท Regular field-level training/workshops conducted for Anganwadi Workers
(AWWs) regarding use of the Poshan Tracker. ๏ท Continuous capacity building and on-the-job learning through self-learning videos featured on Poshan Tracker. ๏ท Poshan Tracker for dynamic and near real-time data on various Anganwadi services for monitoring and transparency.
๏ท Facial Recognition System (FRS) for the distribution of Take-Home Ration ciary registered in Poshan Tracker to improve fi to the inteneded ben last-mile service delivery. ๏ท The Community Based Events (CBEs) and Jan Andolans were conducted during Poshan Maah to supplement the service delivery efforts.
(e) to (f) Under National Health Mission (NHM) Government of India implements several initiatives to enhance outreach, nutritional awareness/maternal-child health services, for women all over the country including rural, tribal and backward regions, covering the Baghpat Parliamentary Constituency as well.1.81 lakh Ayushman Arogya Mandirs (AAMs) have enabled States/UTs to extend a broader package of services closer to community, particularly in underserved districts including regular screening at AAM and outreach camps at the community level for hard to reach areas for various health activities. Outreach camps are regularly held for conducting immunization activities and anemia testing activities as well.
Under the Mission Poshan 2.0 strategy, reduction in malnutrition and improvement of health, wellness and immunity is undertaken through activities like community engagement, outreach, behavioural change, and advocacy.Annexure-I India and State/UT-wise number of Pregnant Women provided Antenatal Care (ANC) check-ups, counselling on Menstrual Hygiene for Adolescent and individual counselling for anemia and women screened for haemoglobin during the SNSPA.
