Will the Minister of YOUTH AFFAIRS AND SPORTS be pleased to state:

(a) whether the State Government of Telangana has submitted any proposal to the Government for laying of the Synthetic Athletic Track at Palamuru University in Mahabubnagar District under Khelo India Scheme;

(b) if so, the details thereof; and

(c) the details of the fund sanctioned, released, expenditure incurred and the present status thereof? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF YOUTH AFFAIRS & SPORTS [ DR. MANSUKH MANDAVIYA ]

(a) to (c) ‘Sports’ being a State subject, the responsibility of development of sports, including creation and upgradation of sports infrastructure such as synthetic athletic track, rests primarily with the respective State/Union Territory Governments. The Union Government only supplements their efforts by bridging critical gaps. Under the Khelo India Scheme, a proposal for development of a Synthetic Athletic Track with associated facilities at Palamuru University, Mahabubnagar District was received from the State Government of Telangana. However, no fresh proposals under Khelo India Scheme are being considered as the scheme for the period 2021-26 has ended.
