(a) to (d) ‘Sports’ being a State subject, the primary responsibility for development of sports infrastructure and promotion of sports, including identification and nurturing of talented sportspersons, rests with the respective State/UT Governments. The Union Government supplements their efforts through various schemes and initiatives, Page 1 of 2including those implemented through the Sports Authority of India
(SAI).
At present, there is no proposal under consideration to establish a new SAI training centre in Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh. However, sportspersons from Bijnor and other parts of Uttar Pradesh may avail training and sports facilities at the existing Centres under the Sports Authority of India (SAI) and Khelo India in Uttar Pradesh. The details of these Centres are available in the public domain on the website of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.
