(a) whether any specific action plan has been prepared to organize training and awareness
programmes for livestock farmers in the Sonipat Lok Sabha constituency in Haryana;
(b) whether the Government proposes to set up awareness camps focusing on the prevention
for foot and mouth disease, brucellosis and other infectious diseases in the area;
(c) whether the Government has any plans to provide training on modern dairy management,
animal nutrition, drug management and hygiene through local veterinary officers; and
(d) whether any proposals is under consideration with the Government to provide financial
assistance, technical support and increase the number of mobile veterinary units for these
programmes?

(a) to (c) Animal Husbandry is a State subject; however, to supplement the efforts of State
Governments and Union Territories (UTs) in creating awareness among livestock farmers, the
Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying (DAHD), GoI has made awareness generation
an integral part of its schemes—Rashtriya Gokul Mission, Livestock Health and Disease Control
Programme, National Livestock Mission, and National Programme for Dairy Development.
Under the National Animal Disease Control Programme (NADCP), implemented as part of the
Livestock Health and Disease Control Programme (LHDCP), awareness activities are conducted
at the village, block, district, and State levels before each vaccination round to ensure proper
understanding and participation from the community, particularly farmers and livestock
owners.
As per information received from the State Animal Husbandry and Dairying Department,
Haryana, a total of 3,581 Health-cum-Infertility Camps have been organized at Veterinary
Institutions during 2025–26, including 149 such camps in the Sonipat Lok Sabha Constituency.
Through these camps, livestock farmers are informed and made aware of Foot and Mouth
Disease (FMD), Brucellosis, and other infectious animal diseases. The Department has alsoconducted 11-day training programmes on Dairy, Piggery, Sheep, and Goat farming in every
district, open to all livestock farmers.
Under the National Programme for Dairy Development (NPDD), training is provided to farmers
and milk producers on good hygienic and manufacturing practices, clean milk production, milch
animal rearing, adoption of cattle feed, green fodder, mineral mixtures, and related aspects.
Further, the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) has established two Krishi Vigyan
