Parliament Question: Training under Mission Shakti

GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF WOMEN AND CHILD DEVELOPMENT LOK SABHA UNSTARRED QUESTION NO.948 TO BE ANSWERED ON 05.12.2025 TRAINING UNDER MISSION SHAKTI

948. SHRI PATEL UMESHBHAI BABUBHAI:

Will the Minister of WOMEN AND CHILD DEVELOPMENT be pleased to state:

(a) the details of the funds allocated/utilized by the Administrator of Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu under Mission Shakti during the last five years, year- wise;

(b) the number and details of women to whom self-protection training was provided under the said Mission in said UT during the last five years, year-wise along with the details thereof; and

(c) the number of workshops organized in said UTs to provide employment and entrepreneurship training during the last five years? ANSWER MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF WOMEN AND CHILD DEVELOPMENT (SHRIMATI SAVITRI THAKUR)

(a) to (c): Mission Shakti aims at strengthening interventions for women safety, security and empowerment. Mission Shakti comprises of two verticals ‘Sambal’ for safety and security of women and ‘Samarthya’ for empowerment of women. The ‘Sambal’ has components of One Stop Centre (OSC), Women Helpline (WHL), Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) and Nari Adalat.

The ‘Samarthya' has components of Shakti Sadan, Sakhi Niwas, Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana.

The details of the funds allocated/released to the Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu under Mission Shakti during the last five years, year-wise is as under: (in Crores) 2020-21 2021-22 2022-23 2023-24 2024-25 Total Expenditure

0.91 2.81 2.43 2.3 5.26 13.71 Funds have been provisioned under the Mission Shakti for training, monitoring, vocational activities, and capacity-building initiatives, including public awareness, outreach, and self- protection training for women and girl child for their safety, security, and empowerment.
