Will the Minister of HEALTHAND FAMILYWELFAREbe pleased tostate:

(a) whether the treatment and management of Thalassemia is covered under Ayushman Bharat PradhanMantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY), if so, the detailsthereof;

(b) the number of children and adults availing thalassemia-related care under the scheme during the last three years;

(c)whether benefitsare providedtopatients of Thalassemia underAyushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, if so, the detailsthereof;

(d) whether there is any specific plan to provide special benefits to Thalassemia patients under the said scheme in aspirational and tribal districts of the county, if so, the details thereof;

(e) whether AB PM-JAY covers complex and high-cost organ transplants such as bone marrow andkidneytransplants, if so, the details thereof;

(f) the number of transplant procedures authorized and the amount disbursed so far under the scheme;

(g) whether cancer is covered under Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY); and

(h) if so, the number of cancer treatments authorized and claims settled under AB PM-JAY during the last three years, State-wise andyear-wise? ANSWER THE MINISTER OFSTATEIN THE MINISTRYOFHEALTHAND FAMILYWELFARE

(a) to (d): Ayushman Bharat - Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) is a flagship scheme of the Government of India that provides cashless health coverage of upto Rs. 5 lakh per eligible family per year for secondary and tertiary care hospitalizations to 12 crore families, constituting the bottom 40% of India’spopulation.Under AB-PMJAY, treatment related to Thalassemia is covered under HBP 2022 package master. A total number of 1,18,171 hospital admissions related to the treatment of Thalassemia have been authorizedunderthe scheme during the last three years.

(e)and (f): UnderAB-PMJAY,HealthBenefitPackage(HBP)2022includescoverageforhigh -cost organ transplant such asrenaland bone marrow transplants. As on30.06.2025,a totalof 26,494 hospital admissions amounting to Rs. 298.31 crore has been authorized for transplant treatmentsunderthescheme.

(g) and (h): Under AB-PMJAY, cancer related treatment is provided through more than 200 packages covering over 500 procedures of Medical Oncology, Surgical Oncology, Radiation Oncology and Palliative Medicine in the National Health Benefit Package (HBP) master.
