Parliament Question: Tribal Circuit under SDS in Pratapgarh

SHRI CHANDRA PRAKASH JOSHI: Will the Minister of TOURISM be pleased to state: (a) the details of the proposals sanctioned under the Tribal Circuit of the Swadesh Darshan Scheme (SDS) in the Pratapgarh district of Rajasthan; (b) the details of the specific sites and the nature of development works being undertaken in Pratapgarh and other districts under this circuit; and (c) the location-wise details of the ongoing works within the Tribal Circuit in the State of Rajasthan? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF TOURISM (SHRI GAJENDRA SINGH SHEKHAWAT) (a) to (c): Development of various tourist destinations and tourism products in the country is primarily undertaken by the concerned State Government (SG)/ Union Territory Administration (UTA). However, the Ministry of Tourism through its various schemes complements these efforts by providing financial assistance to them on receipt of the project proposals in line with the scheme guidelines, government instructions, availability of funds, inter-se priority etc. The Ministry launched its Swadesh Darshan scheme in 2014-15 and sanctioned 76 projects under different thematic circuits including tribal circuits. Further, this scheme was revamped as Swadesh Darshan 2.0(SD2.0) with the idea to develop sustainable and responsible tourism destinations and 53 projects for Rs.2,208.31 Crore have been sanctioned in the country. The Ministry of Tourism under its Pilgrimage Rejuvenation and Spiritual Heritage Augmentation Drive (PRASHAD) scheme has also sanctioned projects in the country to development tourism facilities and amenities.
