GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF TRIBAL AFFAIRS LOK SABHA UNSTARRED QUESTION NO- 1846 TO BE ANSWERED ON- 30/07/2026 TRIFED PROCUREMENT OF MFP 1846. ADV DEAN KURIAKOSE: SMT. JYOTSNA CHARANDAS MAHANT: Will the Minister of TRIBAL AFFAIRS be pleased to state: (a) the details of Minor Forest Produce (MFP) and tribal products procured by Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation of India Limited (TRIFED) since 2021, indicating the quantity, value of procurement and number of beneficiaries covered, State/UT- wise and year- wise; (b) the details of sales revenue realised from such products since 2021, State/UT-wise and year- wise; (c) the details of unsold inventory held by TRIFED as on date, indicating the product-wise quantity and value of stock remaining unsold for less than one year, one to three years and more than three years, State/UT-wise; and (d) the targeted interventions being implemented to enhance market linkages, local value addition and timely procurement to prevent distress sales by tribal gatherers in the State of Kerala and Chhattisgarh? ANSWER MINISTER OF STATE (TRIBAL AFFAIRS) (SHRI DURGADAS UIKEY) (a) & (b): The Ministry of Tribal Affairs implements Pradhan Mantri Janjatiya Vikas Mission (PMJVM) scheme through Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation of India Limited (TRIFED) for livelihood generation of the tribal beneficiaries across the country. Under the scheme, TRIFED is engaged in generating livelihood opportunities for tribal communities through marketing development of the tribal products produced by them which include handicraft, handloom & natural and food products. The identification and empanelment of tribal artisans and procurement of various tribal products from them are the core activities for generating livelihood opportunities for tribal communities. The various tribal products are sold through retail network chain of 115 Tribes India Outlets, exhibition and E-Commerce platforms. The year-wise details of procurement and sales realised since 2021 is given below:Year Procurement (₹ lakh) Sales (₹ lakh) 2021-22 2,900.33 4,342.32 2022-23 1,520.33 3,574.09 2023-24 1,804.16 3,607.22 2024-25 1,754.66 3,386.92 2025-26 1,693.70 3,775.88 (c): As on 02.07.2026, the total value of unsold inventory held by TRIFED is ₹5,944.57 lakh, of which ₹2,973.85 lakh (50.03%) is more than three years old, ₹573.11 lakh (9.64%) is three years old, ₹795.83 lakh (13.39%) is two years old and ₹1,601.79 lakh (26.95%) is less than one year old. The state-wise and year-wise details are given at Annexure-I.
