SHRIBABU SINGH KUSHWAHA: Will the Ministerof HEALTH AND FAMILYWELFAREbe pleasedtostate: (a) the details of the current status of the availability of super-speciality medicalfacilities andthe availability of state-of-the-art equipment at Umanath Singh Government Medical College, Jaunpur of Uttar Pradesh; (b) whether the Government is considering any proposal to develop this medical college as a regional referral hub with excellent medical facilities, financial autonomy and AIIMS like facilities,if so, the details thereof; (c) the details of the financial assistance provided to the said Institution under Central Health Schemesduring the last three years, item-wise; (d) whether the Critical Care Block and the Emergency Trauma Centre are likely to be made operational in the said Medical College at the earliest so as to avoid the referral of patients from PurvanchaltoDelhi andLucknow; and (e) if so, the detailsthereof? ANSWER THE MINISTEROFSTATE IN THE MINISTRYOFHEALTH AND FAMILY WELFARE (SHRIPRATAPRAOJADHAV) (a) to (e): ‘Public Health’ and ‘Hospital’ are State subject, the primary responsibility of strengthening public healthcare system lieswith the respective State/UTGovernments. As per the information provided by Umanath Singh Government Medical College, Jaunpur, there is no Super-Speciality department established in the institute and there is no such proposal in this regard. Further, as informed, under the Pradhan Mantri – Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission (PM-ABHIM), a 100-bed Hospital Critical Care Block is being constructed at the College. Against the approvede-tendercost of Rs.25.63 Cr, anamount of Rs. 13.72Cr. hasso far been released/utilized. The physical progress of the construction work is 61 percent, while the financial progress is 100 percent against the released amount. The establishment of an Emergency Trauma Centre isnot currentlyproposed. *****
