Will the Minister of AYUSH be pleased to state:
(a) the number of schools and colleges imparting AYUSH undergraduate courses in the State of Uttar Pradesh;
(b) whether the Government has implemented National AYUSH Mission (NAM) to provide financial assistance for upgradation of existing undergraduate/postgraduate AYUSH Educational Institutes and if so, the details thereof;
(c) the details of Educational Institutes upgraded under NAM since 2017 in the said State; and
(d) the details of financial assistance sanctioned, released and utilised to these institutes under the said mission, Institute-wise? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF STATE (IC) OF THE MINISTRY OF AYUSH (SHRI PRATAPRAO JADHAV)
(a) There are 99 Ayurveda, 17 Unani, 14 Homoeopathy and 1 Sowa-Rigpa colleges imparting AYUSH undergraduate courses in the State of Uttar Pradesh.
(b) to (d) Ministry of Ayush is implementing the Centrally Sponsored Scheme of the National Ayush Mission (NAM) through State/UT Governments including Uttar Pradesh for the overall development and promotion of Ayush systems. Under NAM, financial assistance is provided to eligible States/UTs 1for the upgradation of existing Undergraduate (UG) and Postgraduate (PG) Ayush Educational Institutions (AEIs) as per the provisions of the NAM Guidelines. Financial assistance is released on the basis of proposals received from the State/UT Governments through their State Annual Action Plans
(SAAPs), subject to appraisal, approval and availability of funds. The details of Ayush Educational Institutions upgraded in Uttar Pradesh since 2017-18, along with the amount approved, Central funds released and funds utilized under NAM, are given at Annexure-I.
